Back then there were 10, today it's just five. Still, practicality tells us that genuine key sellers aren't relying on MSDN or similar official channels.

Taking into account the cost of the regular version and the fact that using a PC means also running Windows, the price remains comparable to that of a motherboard or CPU, with only half the GPU cost. Once those components are replaced, you retain the Windows license. It’s always a good investment, no matter the price.
