You’d likely only achieve around 20 frames per second with the lowest settings and at 720p resolution. When I played Assassin's Creed 2 on my PC back then, it ran reasonably well on medium settings – which was comparable to your system but featured a significantly superior graphics card. A 9500GT simply won’t be capable of playing most games from the past ten years effectively.

You’re close to the lowest specifications, and therefore likely to experience gameplay at a frame rate of 30-40 frames per second resolution of 720p.

You’d likely only achieve around 20 frames per second with the lowest settings and at 720p resolution. When I played Assassin’s Creed 2 on my PC back then, it performed adequately on medium settings – which was comparable to your system – but I had a significantly superior graphics card. A 9500GT simply won't be capable of running most games from the past ten years effectively.

Regarding an 800x600 resolution, could I achieve a higher frame rate?

Should that setting be compatible with both the game and your display, it might likely boost performance sufficiently for gameplay. However, I doubt it would result in a particularly beautiful visual presentation.

You’re close to meeting the necessary hardware specifications, so it ought to function. I believe “medium” is a generous estimate, however, try it out and observe its performance.
