I discovered a significant rise in kills on sight bandits while playing with friends on DayZ SA. It’s really frustrating. My friend and I were at the NW airfield, which is a risky spot but a good example. We turned around and stayed friendly, willing to be held up instead of being killed. A bandit came close—10 to 20 meters away—and could have taken us down. It’s disappointing to see people still risking their lives to destroy weapons and loot rather than holding them. Anyone else feel the same about the game right now?

Plays a survival game
Laments about being defeated
Why not try something different?

I haven't tried it yet since I don't want to play an Alpha, but I'm hoping it won't be that way once the full version is released.

We're fortunate to have an Alpha available through DayZ, even with its limitations.

The game now has too many bandits. It loses its enjoyment when you encounter them and they eliminate you.

It's not about the reason behind the violence, just that people are harming each other without cause. I'm okay with dying, but only if it serves a purpose, like in a fight over something valuable—like a helicopter. They can't be shared, so it's important to understand that.

Yeah. I don't play DayZ. But I'm already frustrated with the bandits, and that's why I avoid it...

Considering the entire point of the game is to put you in a no-rules cutthroat sandbox I think you may be expecting the wrong thing. Unless you find some sort of RP server where people agree to abide to a certain set of rules, that sort of stuff is going to happen.

dayzRP is the sole game I enjoy. I'm still on the mod atm but plan to go solo. Complete whitelisting, no KOS, lots of player interaction. It really brings dayz to life.

more players are adopting the bandit style since the game no longer has a karma system, and the increased attention has attracted diverse approaches such as the good guy bandit.
