I have to manually disable Avira to get onto this site, I tried to add it to an exemptions list but apparently I am not able to do that, they take my request and say they will look into it for the next patch. Anyone else having this issue - or know how I can manually add this to an exempt list without waiting for their almighty approval? Thanks

Alternative: Avoid avira, opt for avast instead.

It's surprising that you haven't adopted Trend Micro, considering your two years of use and the protection you've received. While it does require an investment, their assistance is reliable—remote removal of threats and a tailored immunity file within a week are significant benefits. Honestly, they're worth every penny. If I ever need help with network-wide antivirus support, I'll definitely turn to them.

Thanks everyone, I'll explore the idea of switching. To be honest, I mainly rely on virus scanning for files that might be... suspicious, and I tend to avoid those anyway. Still, it's good to have an extra layer. I've heard you can keep Malwarebytes for this purpose, and the Windows 8.1 defense scanner seems sufficient for regular antivirus needs. I'll need to dig a bit more into that.
