Is anyone else concerned about paying Konami? (END GAME REVEAL)
It seems I share some of the same views about value and support. I’m generally in favor of backing developers over publishers, though they often seem closely linked. Mostly I stick to a no pre-order stance, except for titles like Metal Gear or Silent Hill—especially those from Hideo Kojima. When I did order one, I expected some kind of download perk. Still, I really hope Kojima continues creating games, since it’s likely he’ll steer most of Konami’s big titles in his direction.
Another perspective is that a well-executed MGSV sends a powerful signal about the kind of experience we desire from Konami and how they intend to engage with us. It also significantly complicates efforts to quietly sideline Kojima Productions. Weak sales only provide more justification for them to treat the Metal Gear series like pachinko machines. I’m keen on the game, but I’ll likely have to wait days or even weeks before experiencing it after release. Currently, the only reviews circulating will be those released during Konami’s “review boot camp” event, where media personnel were allowed to play under PR oversight. Until then, no PC review code was shared ahead of launch, which feels disappointing. While I’d say pre-ordering isn’t wise, doing so for this title seems particularly misguided.
I only purchase what I need. The origin of the product doesn't matter to me; I don't care about the manufacturer, production methods, or the company's stance.
That’s a really intense statement. Are you trying to express frustration or something else?
I'd be furious, but what really enrages me is that kojima dropped that terrible ending in the final Metal Gear. I didn’t catch the Gif and I assumed it was BB staring at an old grey-haired BB, which would’ve been better. I didn’t take the medic line seriously either because I just thought, “Kojima isn’t that bad of a writer, is he?” And honestly, even back then anything would have been better.
I changed the title of the post, but it still doesn’t really bother me much. I’m puzzled about why someone would share a spoiler like that. It seems like someone trying to ruin others’ enjoyment just to feel better about themselves. Anyway, I’m not too worried about the story aspects of this game. I’m actually enjoying the gameplay more than anything else. To be honest, I stopped caring about the plot after MGS4. Even Kojima mentioned his ending for that game was more fan service than his true intention, sorry—I don’t have a reference for that... it’s somewhere he said Snake and Otacon should stay together for their crimes, right?
