You have an i5 8400 and a vega 56 with 16gb of RAM. You recently spent $79.99 on Ac Odyssey and struggled to maintain 50fps even at low settings, mainly because of your 6-core CPU. You're considering Metro Exodus but are unsure if a 6-core CPU could run the game smoothly at 60fps on high settings.

The processor is locked at 100% utilization.

I consistently achieve over 60 frames per second on a system with 8600k+GTX1080 graphics when I run at high settings.

Yeh and the graphics card are around 70% optimized for such a game.

you have a fairly stable setup...it's just that the game still needs more...upgrading the CPU...but because the GPU is also at 70%, it might not improve as much as you hoped

It looks like you're aiming for a high-performance build with at least six cores and six threads, possibly using a HT processor. However, I haven't tested it on my laptop yet.

The CPU configuration of four cores and eight threads is sufficient for most games. How does the CPU utilization work in Metro? Also, using VSync might explain why only about 70 percent of the GPU power is being used. Try disabling VSync to check if you reach near 100 percent GPU usage. If the CPU isn't fully loaded, it should be okay. Just a downside is that you can't overclock the 8400.
