Is AMD reporting inaccurate frame rates?
I just updated my Radeon graphics driver, but it seems inaccurate. When playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the software indicates an average frame rate of 74.9 fps while my monitor is set to 75hz – a result that wouldn't be surprising if Vsync were enabled, but it isn’t. However, using MSI Afterburner's in-game overlay reveals frame rates between 200 and 300 fps. Consequently, I’m questioning the accuracy of my actual frame rate. It’s possible the Radeon software is reporting incorrectly, or perhaps I am only achieving 75 fps, with MSI Afterburner providing a faulty reading. Yet, games such as PUBG and Rainbow Six Siege consistently show accurate frame rates. Therefore, I’m seeking input from experienced users who can clarify which measurement is correct and those encountering a similar problem.
It appears that AMD isn’t accurately determining my actual frames per second, likely due to me utilizing an expanded resolution. I am realistically experiencing a frame rate between 200 and 300, but AMD seems to be estimating only 75.
I am experiencing the identical issue in Fortnite, Kovaak, and Brawlhalla.
