Is 8GB of RAM enough for me?
You're looking to upgrade your build with 2x4GB G.Skill Aegis 2400 RAM sticks. This should comfortably support Minecraft: Java Edition at medium settings, especially for 720p at 60 FPS.
Currently, having 8GB is seen as just enough for most affordable setups.
You're good to go with 8GB in Minecraft. What processor are you thinking of pairing it with?
For Minecraft at the resolution you mentioned, 8 GB should suffice initially, but it’s now often seen as the baseline rather than a high recommendation. CPU and GPU requirements also play a role, even though Minecraft isn’t extremely demanding in resources.
This Intel Core i3 10100 model offers flexibility with upgrade options at no expense.
I've been using it for a while now, and I see it's not as smooth as the Java version. Unless you're into mods, it looks pretty sluggish...
You're asking for clarification on what you mean. As someone who's played on consoles, I'd say the Bedrock version is significantly more problematic than Java. Bedrock still has lingering issues from past fixes, such as problems with far lands and floating-point calculations. Regarding mods, I don't really enjoy them much. My main focus will be on snapshots and beta/classic versions, which behave almost like the original. Concerning world corruption from loading differences between versions, I'm using an old 5400 RPM 160GB HDD that I found in a 2009 Dell laptop. It's been reliable so far, even under heavy use, and application load times are surprisingly acceptable.
8GB should suffice if you're only using it for basic tasks, but for regular use a 16GB would be far more convenient.
