Is 500W Enough?
After reviewing all my information, I understand that my 500W power supply should suffice for a typical GTX 970. However, the ASUS GTX 970 STRIX I am purchasing is already overclocked. Would the 500W provide enough power for the upgraded GPU? NewEgg's specifications mention: Core Clock 1114 MHz, Boost Clock 1253 MHz. Additionally, does anyone know if it's possible to turn off the overclocking so I don't have to worry about it? As a beginner with NVIDIA, I'm unsure whether resetting the clock back to 1114 or 1050 would be safe.
It can operate but an upgrade is planned soon.
No requirement to lower the clock speed.
Based on your other computer specifications, a standard 500w power supply should suffice. Could you share the details of your system?
It's sufficient if the PSU has good quality, just need to know the make and model.
