Irritating speech interruptions in three-dimensional environments
Hey there! I just got my new compact system: i5-7300HQ, 16GB DDR4, GTX1070 8GB, Samsung 960 EVO 500GB, and Windows 10 Home. I've been testing some games lately and noticed some frustrating stutters similar to what I had on my old HDDs. The frames per second stay high at 70+ or 100+, but when scrolling, moving, or using the mouse I see occasional delays that don't show up in FPS counters. The games display steady 100+ FPS, yet I notice lags on the screen. Surprising... At first I thought it was the game itself, then tried another one, then another. Finally I ran the Heaven benchmark and got a better result: on the second video, although FPS is solid, there are still those annoying short pauses. While the first video runs perfectly smooth, this inconsistency is bothering me. What could be wrong with my setup and how can I get a stable experience? I really want to play at around 50 FPS instead of lagging at 100. P.S. The average temperature during 3D gaming stays around 60°C, and neither the CPU nor GPU hits 100% usage. The stuttering might happen even at 50% load.
Consider sanitizing your PCI-E header. If it's visibly grimy, it might lead to complications.
