Hello. To permanently turn off or remove Microsoft Edge, you can disable it through settings or use third-party tools. Since you want to keep certain apps and avoid changing defaults, consider using built-in system controls or a dedicated app manager.

Previous guidance has been updated since January 2017. Microsoft no longer supports disabling Edge through the usual methods. The steps outlined remain functional today, though older versions or certain upgrades might require different actions. For MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe, rename the specified folder and adjust permissions accordingly. The process works consistently across multiple systems. Note that the Anniversary update may reverse these changes, so reapplying steps may be necessary.

The program you're running relies on an outdated file association technique to link extensions. It likely depends on Windows XP and a registry setup that's no longer supported after Vista. Since Windows 10 stopped backing this approach, the issue arises because the registry is considered invalid. Instead of causing problems, it fixes the situation by restoring settings to their original state. To resolve this, consider updating the software or switching to a different one.

Bye bye Edge, I'm using Chrome now. The script errors keep popping up, which is really frustrating.
