It seems like there might have been a missed tech preview detail, but everything should work smoothly once the release comes out.

It's strange to hear complaints about minor issues in the preview, especially when the experience feels completely broken. I guess it might have been a mismatch between the hardware and the tech preview requirements.

I'm focusing on minor issues, just because my overall experience has stayed consistent. These small details are what public betas shine for. The major problems should usually be caught by developers. However, something might be overlooked. I've filed a feedback report, which might help fix the issue before launch or, as manikyath mentioned, it could be a tech preview problem only.

I was included in the tech preview team, and after what felt like a long time—around 10,930 seconds—their audio stopped functioning.

I'm currently on Build 10166, started about a month ago, and so far everything has worked well. There have been a few compatibility problems with some games, but switching to Windows 8 compatibility mode resolved them.
