Iris Xe offered little but hoped for more.
I recently purchased a laptop featuring an i7 1165G7 with built-in Iris Xe graphics. I was eager since I've noticed they support light gaming, which fits my busy schedule and would let me enjoy titles like Minecraft or Fortnite while on the move. The main issue is that out of the box, performance feels unstable—frequent frame drops prevent maintaining high frame rates, even though numbers match what I expect. It seems the new hardware might need some time to settle, but I'm curious about ways to boost its stability so the games run smoother.
RAM specifications significantly affect iGPU performance. A dual-channel 4266MHz LPDDR4X will outperform a single-channel 3200MHz DDR4, and even more so than a single-channel DDR4.
That's a very good question, I'm not 100% sure because I haven't opened it up at all, it's a Samsung Galaxybook Flex2 Alpha, the i7 model. After doing some googling I actually think that the memory is soldered to the motherboard because it's a notebook so there is that to consider
I share your main components, and while my Minecraft performance isn't terrible, it could be due to RAM issues. I'm using a 12GB DDR4 at 3200MHz. I have the Acer Aspire A515-56 7699.
