AMD's hints about Zen 5 are still uncertain. The speculation about improved FPU performance remains unverified. Comparing recent models to Intel's offerings with AVX-512 support is challenging due to unconstrained clock speeds, which could introduce minor inaccuracies. Relative Prime95 IPC using AVX2 and AVX-512 under normal conditions reached 100% on Skylake AVX2, 173% on Rocket Lake, 128% on Alder Lake, and 131% on Zen 4. From previous tests, Rocket Lake showed roughly a 40% boost and Skylake-X about 80% compared to Skylake. These results align with expectations, suggesting the latest testing is consistent. I hadn't evaluated AVX2 gains before; they appear stronger than anticipated. Alder Lake's AVX2 performance matches Rocket Lake's AVX-512 results and even surpasses Zen 4.
