iPad mini 4 functions with T-Mobile yet avoids connecting to Verizon even though purchased from them.
Hi everyone, my dad’s iPad mini 4 with 128GB is having trouble connecting to Verizon. When I used the Tello (T-Mobile number), it worked perfectly. Testing with a regular Verizon SIM and a US mobile (Verizon number) didn’t succeed—no service and no IMEI change on his account. I’ve reset the device and network settings, but the modem firmware update is gone, leaving only 3G support on Verizon 50.0. T-Mobile still lets 3G through. I’m confident I have Verizon service since my phone locks onto 5G. I also have a Verizon LTE extender that works fine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I aim to avoid waiting on hold and being directed to the store, especially when I know I can exchange it for less than $25. I might try to get assistance, but I think this approach will lead to better results without constant effort.
It’s for my dad who still uses his old landline and hasn’t gotten internet. I don’t want him to start over with a new phone system since he finds it hard to remember how to use his flip phone. I’m paying $10 a month for the service. I’ll test it in-store soon when I travel to a local store. If there’s anything else I can do to help fix this, please let me know.
Ended up contacting Verizon and discovered the issue was the modem wasn’t transmitting a VoLTE signal. Since the device couldn’t make calls, they allowed me to use my IMEI for service access.
