Updated with additional details I plan to begin examining the Exploration branch of the organization. To start, I intend to conduct a pilot survey of the Stanton system after the 2.0 release. This initiative is being integrated into Operation Eden, and I hope it will provide insights on organizing, collecting, and analyzing data within Star Citizen. I anticipate CIG will propose suitable systems for this purpose as time progresses, so my focus has been clarifying our approach to structuring and deploying. The consolidation, distribution, and analysis of information will initially serve as a placeholder but will ultimately demonstrate our findings. My proposal is to form exploration teams consisting of 1 to 5 ships, each assigned specific segments of the system for surveying. All collected data will be shared via a Google Doc (http://goo.gl/forms/jbT6tJh064). I believe we need to decide how segments are allocated and whether a team can manage multiple segments simultaneously. Additionally, I suggest defining key metrics to evaluate pre- and post-survey engagement, ensuring we measure the model’s effectiveness. This thread should address: Is this strategy sound? How will we recruit and assign wings? What success indicators should we track? What structure should we adopt—less hierarchical than the Military Branch? Which data points are essential for our analysis?

I fully endorse and back this initiative. I believe it's a great concept and deserves recognition.

Hi @Geekavenger Project Eden was designed to try everything in the baby PU, starting with military then exploration. I'm updating the main thread in Project Eden (now Operation Eden) and would love for you to join this branch if you're up for it. Let me know if you're interested!

+1, I think this is a great idea, I am totally on board with this! Would love to see a lot more of these operations come to play, really brings out the crowd that we have behind us!

I really hope we can be included in the Op. Chances. It’s likely we’ll have to work with the Military to check risky areas, no matter what.

Oppose this approach in the long term because any anonymous forum member could view this subforum and all shared information.

It seems I'm on the same page about having built-in information access inside the game. I also believe it should integrate more with the jobs board feature. Maybe we'll compensate independent contractors for handling parts of the survey in return for exclusive data rights—though we'll need to wait for CIG to release a design document to confirm this.

There are methods to ensure randos cannot access large amounts of information.

You need to depend on the in-game system only after it's fully operational, then mapping unknown areas becomes impossible. I recommend building a map in GIMP and letting team members download and modify it. Saving it in the GIMPS standard format lets everyone update weekly and combine layers. Since we can't view the prototype on Imgur, I can't share that version. One issue that bothers me is Malum's actions—doing wrong things in Latin and taking fruit from the tree feels like mining or trading. I’d prefer Stella (star) or Locus (space), day 4 of 7. It doesn’t have to match exactly.
