Introducing your new PC builder! Learn how to configure the setup.
Hey everyone! I just completed assembling my PC, but I'm stuck on getting it to boot Windows properly. I need to turn it on via D: and see if it recognizes the CPU, RAM, etc. I noticed I should use a USB drive and possibly some SATA drives. I had a doubt about whether I really needed the SATA drive for booting, especially since some builds I saw on YouTube didn’t use one if they had an SSD. After some research, I’m wondering if the SATA drive is actually necessary for starting up. Once I have it, what should I do next? Also, what other components should I install during the initial boot-up process? Thanks a lot! TL;DR – how do I bypass the boot screen and get to Windows?
Ensure you have an NVMe/M.2 SSD. You'll require a USB thumb drive with Windows installation files. Store retail versions of Windows include a USB key; you may also use your personal drive if another PC is available. Insert the USB thumb drive (must be 8GB or more) into a USB port and visit the download page at https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/. Choose your desired Windows version and download the installer. Launch the wizard, pick USB flash drive, set your drive as the target. After inserting the drive into a USB port on your new PC and powering it up, continue pressing Del or F1 to access BIOS. Set your USB as the first boot device in the boot menu. Press F10 to apply changes. Your system will restart and show the Windows installer. Proceed with the installation steps as guided. For GPU drivers, visit the manufacturer's site—chipset, LAN, audio support are essential. For NVIDIA GPUs, go to nvidia.com/drivers; for AMD, amd.com/support.
Thank you very much! I'm excited to complete the setup and really appreciate your help. Your support means a lot!
