A week ago I observed my internet connection slowing down. I checked the speed and found downloads averaging about 8Mbps with latency near 300ms. Upload remained stable around 30Mbps (paying for 300Mbps down, 20Mbps up). After restarting everything, download improved to roughly 94Mbps but never exceeded 100Mbps (latency around 50ms), then dropped back to about 8Mbps. I replaced the routers with an older backup, but it didn’t work at all. Even using the modem directly didn’t establish a connection. A couple weeks ago we got a new router after a power outage; the previous backup couldn’t reach speeds above 100Mbps. Once the new one arrived, performance reached up to 500Mbps. I’ve tested various Cat5e cables and connections, but nothing helped. On the router’s dashboard it mentioned no connection to the WAN port, though this issue disappeared. The modem shows an amber blinking Ethernet light indicating a powered device is connected at 10/100 Mbps. We recently switched to SudoLink, owning our own modem, but I’m unsure if that matters. At present, both Wi-Fi and the new modem aren’t delivering speeds over 100Mbps.
