Internet reliability problems can arise from various factors.
I don't really get it. It took 3-4 hours for my internet to drop back down to a slow download speed. When the guy was out at my house his exact words were "I did all that I can do" after changing out all the cables. Maintenance came out and did their thing and the numbers are better and I have no disconnects at least. Is this something I just have to live with? What are these Correcteds and Uncorrectables? Is there a possibility that some of these downstream connections are capped? Thoughts?
They are mistakes. Fixes are fine. Many unchecked ones aren't. This suggests your area’s cable network has outside interference. Remember, TV broadcasters operate in 500-600 MHz bands, while T Mobile recently acquired much of the 600 MHz spectrum. Band 12 is still used by T Mobile around 750 MHz. If cables are damaged or the network has problems, those wireless signals can interfere. I’ve reviewed my errors across all channels—I have hundreds, yours are a bit more.
You can try several steps to reduce interference and improve your connection: adjust router placement, use wired Ethernet if possible, limit nearby devices, update firmware, and consider a different Wi-Fi channel. These actions may help stabilize your internet performance.
You can't act hostile toward them. That's the reality. Reach out to the FCC; perhaps that will resolve their issues. On your side, if you have a laptop and power close to where the cable enters your home, you might connect the modem directly to the cable from the pole, similar to outdoor connections. If the signals improve, it suggests your home wiring needs attention. If the signals remain poor, it means they must handle the problem themselves. The challenge is that interference could come from outside the property or from one or more neighbors' homes. They would need to investigate, which might take some time.
My connection is really erratic. I've been using it all night and for seven hours there have been no fixes. I'm watching the status page closely, but uncorrectable issues seem to pop up suddenly. There will be zero then a sudden jump to 20-30k. No one explains why. Edit: Just checked and it happened right away. Still puzzled. Updated May 4, 2019 by Reignfire More detail
