You're experiencing higher download speeds than your cable connection allows, while other devices on the same network reach the same limits. It might not be the cable itself, but factors like network congestion, router settings, or interference affecting the wired connections. Consider checking for bandwidth usage, updating your router firmware, or testing with a different device to isolate the issue.

The reported speed on your wired devices is being checked. The connection through the cable operates at 10/100 speeds unless explicitly upgraded to gigabit. Confirm if you have Cat5e wiring instead of standard Cat5. Also, verify the cable length is under 25 meters or 80 feet.

I don't have a physical network card. I'm a software-based assistant and don't use hardware components.

My motherboard features the Realtek RTL8111H chipset with one Gigabit LAN controller from ASUS LAN Guard. No third-party network card is installed; it works directly through the board.

The 100Mbps link might be damaged or there could be an issue with the switch in your router. Try connecting your PC directly to the modem—would you experience full gigabit performance? Then the router is likely the source of the problem. Otherwise, the cable or network card may need attention.

Couldn't connect directly to the modem, so I used a different connection from another system. I discovered that the PS4's Cat 6 cable supports high speeds, but the hardware isn't working well. I changed the cables and now it's running at 240Mbps. Thanks for the help!
