I'm based in Australia with an FTTC modem that connects to a router via its WAN port. The router offers Wi-Fi, but I've faced an issue after installing a new PC with a gigabyte motherboard. The modem mistakenly treats the PC as the router itself, preventing the router from providing internet access. This only works around when I disconnect the PC's Ethernet cable during router and modem restarts. Recently, I noticed that crashes or unstable CPU clocks cause the router to lose internet suddenly—restarting it resolves the problem. This behavior seems unusual; I'm concerned it might affect my connection quality, especially regarding packet loss.

The gigabyte motherboard supports both Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections for my PC. I don’t have any other adapter or PCIe card with this feature.
