Recently my internet performance on my desktops has dropped significantly. Ookla reported speeds around 11Mbps and downloads near 3.8Mbps, though these numbers seem low compared to what I’ve experienced. For reference, my League game ping stays between 50 and 10k ms. I’m told a freezer might be blocking the direct connection to the router, but tests from my laptop and mobile show much better results. Since I don’t have an Ethernet connection, my standard Sky router is using a TP-link card. What’s happening and how can I improve it?

Check if your Ethernet cable is connected to any power cords. Electrical noise might occur due to voltage differences between the power lines and the Ethernet wires. Which type of CAT cable do you use? CAT 5, 5e, 6 or 7?
