Hello, I'm configuring my router via its web interface, and was wondering what these 3 settings mean. Thanks in advance.

Multicast functions as a one-to-many protocol, commonly applied in IPTV and similar services where a stream is sent from a single device and replicated for all users requesting it. In terms of security, the broadcast network name refers to wireless setups where the SSID is advertised. Permitting new devices could enable unauthorized access through the security key.

Channels are being reviewed with automatic selection enabled. Right now it's tuned to channel 11. Decide whether to keep it as auto or pick a specific channel yourself—this could affect your experience.

I believe 11 works well when no other signals are present. The auto should detect the least crowded channel, though manual setup is also acceptable.

Consider whether keeping the same IP active across all devices makes sense. Benefits might include consistent access, while downsides could involve security risks or network restrictions.

Connected gadgets on your router via Wi-Fi include your PC, phone, and Xbox. You’re able to set each to consistently use the same IP address. This behavior is normal if you want stability across devices. Using the identical IP continuously can be beneficial for certain applications but may raise security concerns if not managed properly.

It doesn’t significantly impact performance. Helpful when you need consistent IP addresses, like for a game server.
