I'm looking for a way to fit M.2 or MSATA SSDs directly into a case, similar to plugging a USB drive in. There are many adapters available that let you attach these drives to USB ports, but I need a solution that works straight out of the box without extra converters.
They convert mSATA to SATA and M.2 (AHCI - just SATA) into adapters... then you can insert that SATA adapter with the drive inside, place it in a bay, and the drive will be recognized. A 2.5" drive can be swapped in, but you’ll need a matching 3.5" to 2.5" adapter and make sure the back connectors line up properly.
I have a single adapter idea—just picture inserting a floppy disk into what you normally use, or swapping in a SATA SSD, M.2 SSD, or similar. Right now I use USB 3 to SATA and SATA to M.2 adapters, but I was thinking about having everything neatly inside the case. I hope this explanation is clear enough, even though my language isn’t very strong. Sorry if it’s not perfect!
