I thought this was the case, but I’m encountering complaints about problems with 580s or even smaller cards. I searched for benches but haven’t found any.

Check out the YouTube videos. The 2400g model performs much better across most tests, while the 4770k is starting to feel outdated, as few people want to compete with gear that's already six generations old.
