Interesting fact – the Windows Update feature deleted my desktop background.
I captured the image on my desktop before the Windows update, but after switching to Windows 10 2004 it’s completely black. It’s not a major issue, and fixing it is easy, but I’m curious about why this happened.
It's strange your Windows setup seems to be working properly despite the license status.
It seems your wallpaper might have been saved in the Windows folder, and an update could generate a fresh version. You shouldn't lose any other files.
It usually occurs when you save a picture as wallpaper and later remove or relocate it. To avoid seeing it, move the image to a hidden location like C:\Users\<Account Name>\AppData (hidden folder)\Roaming or another safe spot outside shared directories such as C:\Users\Public\Documents.
