Setup 7950x / Fractal define R7 / 4 Noctua 140mm (2 front + 1 reay + 1 top) 1 140mm MLcorsair (bottom) / 3080 / D15 cooler. Play one hour of gaming, then 20 minutes on Furmark + 10 minutes on Cinebench. Peak temps: Chipset 1 = 67°C, Chipset 2 = 71°C. Asus TUF X670e Plus with Wi-Fi. Looks pretty good... VRM reaches 66°C, but the GPU handles heat well and the Fractal design differs from "Airflow King".

It's quite warm trying to bring some air around that chipset. If the GPU blocks it, or if you're using just a few fans, the chipsets usually use less power and operate between 30 to 50°C.

I overlooked the four Noctua supporters, though the 3080 looks decent. It might be because the chipset GPUs heat up, so consider increasing the fan speed—your Noctua fans should remain relatively quiet.

Looking for similar builds and their temperature stats is what I’m after. It’s manageable until things climb past 90, so I’m feeling relaxed. The TUF model doesn’t rely heavily on big aluminum heatsinks; it’s more about passive cooling. Aim for around 60-70°C without a 4000rpm fan—something like most X570 variants would need that. The Fractal design isn’t particularly effective, though. The motherboard stays cool at about 36°C even when things get hot, suggesting decent airflow inside. There’s also that crazy Strix build with large heatsinks that performed well in cold tests, reaching 62°C on a crystal bench in just five minutes. If the case isn’t overheating, it seems fine. Also, check out the “under desk” style with a radiator—last week it hit 27°C and still had good performance. Just running quietly, no intense gaming, and it stays around 60-58°C at idle. But it uses dual chipsets. Anyone else with X670E or similar models sharing their temps?
