I possess the Dell OptiPlex 3070 specifications: Intel I5-9500T with onboard UHD 630 graphics, 256GB Kioxia NVME SSD, ADATA 64GB SATA SSD, and 8GB Micron RAM. Running Windows 11 GhostSpectre SuperLite, I’ve identified the problem that causes the system to freeze at startup. I disabled Intel SpeedStep and C-States in the BIOS. Since then, the system operates well except when the OS or graphics driver is installed. The screen goes black immediately after either the operating system or driver attempt. I use HDMI for display, but the issue seems linked to laptops—my integrated monitor works with an external setup. I’ve checked online reports and found most issues stem from laptops, where the built-in screen disappears. Since I’m already using an external monitor, I’m unsure how to fix this. I’ve tried all available Dell graphics drivers, none helped. When the black screen appears, rebooting forces the BIOS to hang before Windows loads. Clearing CMOS and entering safe mode with DDU resolves it, allowing a clean boot. However, the generic Microsoft Basic Video Adapter driver remains unresolved. In Device Manager, after installing the monitor driver, the display still shows up as an integrated device with its model number listed. Any suggestions on obtaining a proper graphics driver or bypassing this problem?

Download and set up the driver straight from Intel. Check if it resolves your issue. This graphics card works smoothly with a TV for streaming without any problems.

I put in the driver you recommended, but I'm still stuck on the window loading page. The wheel starts turning and then the screen goes dark on the keyboard, continuing to spin.

I restarted the system to your inatall.media and performed a startup repair, but it brought everything back to the state before the driver was added. Now I'm starting from scratch again.

I've been stuck at the same point and unable to install the graphics driver. So, what I'm wondering is if it's defaulting to the DisplayPort instead of HDMI once I install the drivers and since there's no monitor hooked up to the DisplayPort I'm just getting a black screen. Since I don't have a DisplayPort monitor, I've ordered a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter which should be here in a couple days. Will update with my findings once it arrives. Until then, if anybody has any other ideas, I'm all ears. Thanks again!

Received the DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and attempted to install drivers to check if it was defaulting to DisplayPort, causing a black screen through the HDMI port with no success. At this stage, the screen remains blank and doesn’t recover. The generic driver works fine for video, but installing an Intel driver renders the PC unusable. Any suggestions?

I looked into the driver versions they were using—it matches something I’ve already tested, though I’ve used the Dell model before. I’m now checking the Intel Direct version and the Microsoft catalog options to see if either helps. Just trying to make a guess here, hoping it works!
