Intel Turbo Boost leading to game performance issues
Hey there, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my laptop. When it's plugged in and Intel Turbo Boost is active, games often freeze and become unresponsive after a short while. But once I unplug the charger, everything works smoothly on battery power. I've tried some fixes, like turning off Turbo Boost by setting the processor to 99% usage while charging. Now it runs better. This issue used to be absent, so I'm not sure what's causing it. My machine is a Lenovo Ideapad 530s with Windows 10 1909, an i5-8250U processor, 8 GB RAM, and a Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphics card. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!
Likely overheating during turbo activation, leading to abrupt strong throttle input. Consider lowering voltage or refreshing thermal paste.
