Intel Presentmon version 2.0 is not functioning properly.
V0.6 functions correctly whereas V2.0 fails, and the transition from Beta v0.6 to V2 seems unusual. Typically it proceeds to version 1 before reaching V2, but here it skips or stops at V2 on my system. The app launches with an error stating 'presentmon is not running,' and reinstalling didn't resolve the issue. Current system details: Windows 10 22H2, AMD FX-8350 Sapphire RX590, 16GB DDR3 RAM.
I’ll save you some time. Don’t even think about using that kind of system. It’s not worth running it, especially with a 12-year-old CPU—it’s no surprise it breaks under such software. Even older versions might fail, and it’s still in beta, so likely the same.
It's fascinating to observe performance differences when the GPU is constrained versus when it has more resources. For instance, in Tekken 8 under full GPU limits, NFS Heat runs on CPU, and Sifu is limited by GPU. However, during moments with loading assets and a noticeable FPS boost, CPU becomes the bottleneck. The RX 580 struggles to maintain 1080p 60fps in TK8 without upscaling, suggesting hardware limitations regardless of age. These patterns highlight how game demands shift between GPU and CPU under different conditions.
