you're facing a common issue with Windows 11 setup. since you already have an x550 intel network card and heavy bandwidth usage, sticking with the pre-installed drivers might be the safest choice. the Intel support page doesn't list approved drivers for Windows 11 yet, so it's wise to avoid unapproved software. if you really need PowerShell tools, consider checking manufacturer updates or third-party solutions that are compatible. skipping the installation of unverified drives is a good decision to prevent potential conflicts.
ok... i know driver issues are very exciting reading material . WTF?! https://community.intel.com/t5/Ethernet-...rue#M27177 >We have received an update from our engineering team. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA for Windows 11 driver release. We also recommend to check with your board manufacturer if your motherboards can fully support Windows 11 if they have if they have drivers for chipset, audio and other components. windows 11 is not on intel support matrix https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...-5gbe.html Microsoft Windows 10 is the final Microsoft Windows Operating System to support Intel PROSet and Intel ANS. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...ducts.html PROSet is the mother of my powershell intel modules. i need to roll that win11 back. asap
Haven't seen a win10 driver that didn't work in Win11 yet. Both the generic driver and the current Win10 one should be fine... That's a 6-year old product intended for the server market so I doubt Intel will bother making a Win11-specific one since it's unlikely the intended market will move to Win11 (more like its server equivalent) before years....
I checked the motherboard support site for the driver and should have noted my specifications earlier. The nearest reference I located was in a helpful Intel Support Forum post about version 4.1.239.0. Thanks for the feedback!
