Intel i9 10900k overheating problem with unlocked status and unstable speed changes.
My setup has been running for two years and I'm encountering sudden spikes in temperature, jumping from about 37°C to 75-80°C during FL Studio sessions. The CPU speed varies between 800MHz and around 5098MHz without overclocking. I've reset the BIOS to defaults and switched between balanced and high performance settings, but it hasn't resolved the issue. Could this be due to the AIO water coolant evaporating? Please advise! Thank you!
It's an issue because the timing is off, even though the component functions properly.
Typical operating temperature for a CPU during heavy workload is around 80 to 90 degrees Celsius, depending on the component and environment.
I've been handling more weight than before, yet this was the first time I encountered an issue. Recently, over the past couple of days the problem started. I'm worried it won't harm my CPU and am also thinking about whether the AIO water coolant could be drying up.
For a safer assessment, try running cinebench R23 a few times. If your CPU performance matches expectations, everything looks good. If scores drop noticeably or the system freezes, we can dig deeper for issues. As a synthetic test, it maintains full CPU usage throughout, helping ensure stable MHz readings. Proper AIO operation should keep temperatures within normal ranges.
While using Google Chrome, here are the performance numbers! Thanks for sharing, I'll run Cinebench R23 and check the results.
It's completely secure as long as the temperature stays below 100°C, and even then it can handle it, the processor will simply slow down.
