Hello, everyone. Yesterday I played Cyberpunk 2077 and everything felt smooth with stable FPS and solid performance. While checking for a CPU bottleneck on my i7-8700, I opened HWMonitor. After the session, I saw that my CPU was at maximum usage (around 100%) and the clock speed reached about 6GHz. I noticed this, but my MOBO doesn’t support overclocking, and my PSU is a 600-watt unit—maybe it can’t supply enough power. My main concern is whether these high frequencies are causing issues. Is this something HWMonitor is reporting, or is the system under stress that’s being misinterpreted? I also saw three cores running hot; I’ll look into the thermal paste later. Could it be that the CPU clock and temperatures are linked? Surely a higher clock leads to more heat, but could the temperature spike have triggered HWMonitor to flag it as high? Thanks for your help!

HWMonitor doesn't correctly detect frequencies on recent devices. Consider using HWInfo instead.

This timepiece defies logic, unless your toes are extremely chilly.

Despite using a 420mm AIO, the 8700 non-k model only achieves 4.3 watts per core and 130 watts under 70°C conditions in Prime95.
