I am experiencing difficulties with my configuration and Far Cry 3. I am utilizing maximum settings at 1080p with DirectX 11 and VSync disabled. Upon initiating a new game, I executed Fraps and played until reaching the initial tower. My interaction with the NVIDIA Control Panel has been minimal, resulting in default settings. The performance metrics obtained were: Frames: 63326, Time (ms): 955281, Min: 22, Max: 143, Avg: 66.290. Additionally, I observed significant frame tearing. My system specifications are as follows: GTX 1080, i7-6700, 750W PSU, and 16GB RAM.

Reinstall the Nvidia drivers. What is your motherboard? That CPU, while not ideal, isn’t a great match for a 1080.

Reinstall Nvidia drivers. What is your motherboard? That CPU, although not excellent, isn’t ideal for pairing with a 1080.

I have fully reinstalled drivers, ensuring they are the most recent version. My motherboard is a Gigabyte Z270X Ultra Gaming.

Lowering graphics settings affects frames per second. What is your display device?

If FPS didn't change even after lowering settings, that usually indicates a CPU limitation.

Cpu temps are good?
1 or 2 sticks of RAM?
Have you run any virus scans recently? This one tends to catch things that usually slip past the AVs: https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/adwcleaner

You need to enable fast sync or V-Sync – or cap the in-game FPS to 60 – in Nvidia Control Panel. That screen tearing is from your in-game FPS exceeding what your monitor is capable of displaying.

CPU temperatures do not exceed 70°C. I have 2x8GB 2400MHz G.Skill RAM modules. I performed a scan that identified three files, which I deleted.

I am considering reinstalling Windows because several games exhibit problems due to GPU underperformance.
