Hello, I've been using my 13700kf for nearly a year and have never run Cinebench R23 before. Recently I tried it, and it crashed immediately with a bug report. What might be wrong? I've attached photos showing both airflow and paste quality—should the chip be faulty? Would reinstalling Windows help? I've already reinstalled Cinebench R23, upgraded from Windows 10 to 11, updated BIOS to version 7E07v19, applied fresh thermal paste, and set up my system with the specified components.

You've likely encountered problems from overclocking or the motherboard's automatic adjustments. R20 and R23 excel at spotting voltage or power shortages, especially when configuring power limits on your 12600KF.

It handles high performance well, but at reduced settings like gaming it can approach around 100°C. In theory, it shouldn't freeze up, only slow down due to heat.

Never modified any settings for this CPU or MOBO before. Only changed the XMP mode. I didn’t mention trying a BIOS update, but I received version 7E07v19 on 2023-12-12. Should I reset the BIOS now?

While playing games, the temperature is typically between 70-80°C. I also enjoy playing Rust and Witchcraft!

Consider running tests without XMP activated. RAM problems could lead to crashes. Try using tools like Memtest86(+) or OCCT instead.

I think a tactical nuke feels a bit excessive. First, I should check if the CPU enhancement in MSI is disabled. If it isn’t, there’s likely more to address.

The 5-minute duration isn't always reliable, but it generally holds up well. OCCT also runs additional CPU and GPU evaluations. It might point to a CPU problem if memory issues aren't present.

It seems like the issue persists even after disabling it and turning off XMP. *sigh*

Here are three alternative versions of your message:

1. Set it manually off; otherwise it will just act as if it has no restrictions, which often leads to unexpected behavior.
2. After confirming TE is off, test with Turbo Boost disabled. If that works...
3. Check if you can define a turbo table yourself. I’m having trouble finding details about MSI motherboards and whether they support this kind of setting, so I’m really struggling here. If you have a Gigabyte board, you’re in luck—it’s what I have, and custom turbo tables are definitely worth exploring.
