The Intel i5-7400 is still useful for general tasks and light gaming. If you plan to upgrade your PC, consider whether a higher-end CPU like the i5-10400 or i7 series would better suit your needs. Your current setup is solid but may need more power for demanding applications.

It varies based on the type of gaming you play; older titles work well, but outdated 4-core/4-thread CPUs perform poorly against modern AAA games.

What are your complete system details? Which titles will you be using? Are you aiming for a specific display setting? Expect smooth performance with light esports titles like Rocket League, older games, and avoid heavy AAA games due to limited hyperthreading support.

It's a pretty basic 8-year-old CPU that can't be boosted. It runs much slower compared to today's standards. The 12th generation E-Cores are quicker than the 7400 series.

Here are the games you're interested in, along with their full system specifications. Most titles from 2018 should work, though older CPUs might face challenges with newer features.
