I owned a laptop equipped with an Intel Z3735F back in 2015. Its performance is solid when considering the overall cost. I could run games such as NFS Most Wanted (2005). For everyday tasks, it works fine. It ran on Windows 8.1, and even after switching to Windows 10, it remained responsive. The main point is why Intel discontinued Atom development. The Z3735F is still sold in stores. It would be great to see a more affordable Atom chip with better performance and graphics. Pentiums and Celerons exist, though they might be pricier.

Today's components are quite expensive compared to their performance. The similarity in cost between celerons and Pentiums has made atoms less important because they really don't offer much value.

It seems the main reason Atoms might have failed was because their standard ULP Core components were nearing the power consumption of Atoms but also offering significantly better speed.
