Intel GMA 950 overclocking
Intel GMA 950 overclocking
I own a Dell Latitude D620. I use it for school but I'm looking for a way to boost its poor integrated graphics performance. The details are: core 2 duo t7600, Intel GMA 945, 3gb RAM, Windows 7. Can I try overclocking the IGPU slightly?
Even though I agree with Wildcard's suggestion, updating the driver to the newest version (around 2009) won't make much difference.
It's not about AMD or Nvidia drivers where performance improvements are possible; Intel doesn't update drivers for hardware that's nearly ten years old.
That's why most people don't use iGPUs for anything beyond watching videos or browsing the web.
Sorry to share this disappointing update!
I attempted to use gma boost, but it didn't start at all. Are there alternative options you could consider?
no, sadly you are out of luck. But I think you are missing the point. There is no way to get an increase in performance. You need a new laptop if you wanna have better performance.
Because it's such a week iGPU, even if you did OC it, you would yield, literally no improvement.

Well, I was just curious about how much effort I could put into that puppy.
