Hello, good day. I had some confusion regarding the motherboard issue. Is it a motherboard fault or a power supply problem? Details: - 4GB RAM (2x 2GB at 1333Mhz) - Core i3 540 (first generation)

This seems to be a power unit issue, consider using another spare if available. If the board fails, it might be due to BIOS corruption or hardware damage—short-circuit it carefully and replace the chip. Use a basic USB programmer like the Ch341A, follow orientation, reprogram, then reattach. If it's a BIOS fault, desolder the chip and reflash. For non-BIOS faults, soak it in water for 1-2 minutes, then rinse thoroughly, dry thoroughly by shaking and let it sit for a few hours or days. Works with ultrasonic cleaners too, though the dishwasher method isn’t clear. This kind of problem is hard to fix, so go with a strong approach—sometimes it just needs a thorough reset. If the board is bad, it’s essentially useless for overclocking and will only sell for around $20.
