Intel offers chips that work with PCIe 4.0, and several of their motherboards are compatible with it.
Intel's latest products (including LGA 1200 and their current consumer CPU socket) lack PCIE 4.0 support. They will accommodate PCIE 4.0 devices at PCIE 3.0 performance levels. In most scenarios this isn't a major concern, though it remains uncertain whether this affects newer components like the RTX 3000 cards since they haven't been released yet.
