Intel Core i7 4790K from Devil's Canyon 2021
I achieved a successful overclock in 2021 using an AIO liquid cooler. The processor runs at 4.6 GHz on an Intel Core i7 4790k 4th gen with turbo boost set between 5.27 and 5.28. Cinebench scores peak at around 7.7°C, while idle temps stay between 35 and 49°C. The overclock remains stable without crashes, and the turbo boost was enhanced via XMP in the BIOS or similar settings. I’m hoping this helps those still using this setup.
Pretty neat, some old-school overclocking! 4.6ghz with all cores is a fairly standard boost. Temperatures are hitting their limits for that speed, but stability should be fine. You can try tweaking the cache ratio, but keep it under 1.20v—aim for around 1.1250v. Consider going to 4.4ghz or an x44 multiplier. Of course, you can push a bit more from memory too. If you check back, I'd love some screenshots, at least GL!
