You might not be able to use the i7-2600 with your current motherboard. The 4-pin EPS connector is outdated and doesn’t support modern CPUs like the i7-2600. It’s likely you’d need a different connector type or an upgrade to get the best performance.

Pair it with an e5 1230 v2 or higher, essentially a server version of the i7 with improved silicon for better undervolting potential. The ivy CPUs are solidly efficient, making it feasible to lower voltages further (throttling or mods can help). Anything below 1230 is mainly an i5.
