The Ryzen 5000 is currently available, but it looks like AMD has shifted focus toward higher performance. Intel seems to be facing challenges, especially with its 14nm process across five generations—though some analyses suggest this isn’t as severe as perceived. Intel’s reliance on Skylake for too long has led to inefficiencies, resulting in poor performance per watt and heat management issues. It appears Intel is exploring new approaches, possibly testing mobile designs and 10nm architectures that could influence future chips like Rocket Lake or the upcoming Alder Lake. They’ve also been working behind the scenes on innovations such as the new core design and 12th/13th generation layouts. Intel has consistently released full product lines simultaneously, unlike AMD’s more staggered releases. I appreciate your feedback and look forward to your thoughts.

lmg created a clear, easy-to-understand chart showing the expected performance boost from the 11th generation. The main point is that if the predictions hold true and match consistently, Intel’s position would essentially revert to what it was during the Zen 2 versus 10th generation era.

They faced significant challenges as Intel struggled with delays while AMD advanced its technology. This gap will likely prevent recovery.

I believe they might retaliate and balance things out at least until another AMD leapfrog appears, which they could likely match with a similar move. However, I think if AMD keeps this pace, Intel's prime era is over for good. They produce decent items, but since AMD re-entered the market and Intel lagged behind, their chances of regaining top position seem slim. With ARM now dominant, I’m skeptical they’ll ever regain full control.

If AMD keeps advancing its designs at the same rate as Intel, they will always stay marginally ahead—unless Intel improves faster. It will take a long time for AMD to close the gap, making it highly unlikely they’ll catch up in the near future.

I don't feel any empathy for Intel. Their leadership is foolish, and they completely caused this situation themselves.
