I've resolved the problems with the onboard Realtek NIC for my FreeNAS server. It performs exceptionally well, unlike the previous onboard card I used. Throughput matches or exceeds other 1 Gbit NICs. I purchased the 82574L EXPI9301CT for a lab project at work. Previously, I never reached speeds above 80Mb/s. I tested it on Windows servers, pfSense, and a RedHat box using Intel drivers, but never achieved higher transfer rates. Up until now, I haven't encountered any issues with 10Gtek products.
Intel tends to have more reliable drivers and fewer hardware-related issues compared to Realtek. Are you wondering why one FreeNAS card works perfectly while another struggles at work?
After testing, everything works fine. Link: https://www.sfpcables.com/ethernet-conve...r-x520-da2 Order confirmed with code SFPcables8 for $106.
