Intel 5 235 appears to boot into BIOS unexpectedly.
Upgraded to Core Ultra 5 235 with TUF B860-Plus WiFi and 64 GB storage. Installed Ripjaws S5 and ensured it boots into BIOS during Windows 11. Updated BIOS to version 1801, swapped out the CMOS battery, and verified RAM. Considering next steps?
It doesn’t make logical sense. The UEFI display doesn’t appear suddenly. Are you asking if Windows restarts and then shows the UEFI setup? And does it restart, shut down, or something else? What do you observe?
If the SSD vanishes, Windows might temporarily stall or trigger a crash before restarting, eventually bringing it back to BIOS. The process should resemble a normal reboot.
User experienced the issue in an Excel or Word app, often after screen timeout. It seems to occur intermittently but isn't under their control.
The UEFI setup menu must appear after a shutdown or restart. The OS needs to stop properly before it can open the menu. If it tries to open it while running, it could crash or cause a reboot. Check the logs for more details.
Well, there is one way. Imagine some malware just displays a full-screen copy of a BIOS screen. But yeah, I can't imagine why they would do that.
Unfortunately I lack further information. It seems the user has limited understanding and finds it hard to describe specifics. The system might be restarting, though no obvious signs appear in the event viewer. The only issue noted is the Time Clock not syncing, which I have turned off but didn’t resolve the problem. I anticipate being on-site next week to inspect the NVMe drive. Thank you for your feedback.
Are you working on someone else's system? I need more details about what you observe before the UEFI menu appears. Does the display become empty?
