I recently upgraded to B550 and installed the ASUSROG Strix B550I motherboard with Intel I225-V 2.5Gb Ethernet. Despite extensive research, I haven’t found my internet interface labeled as 2.5Gb. On Ubuntu, `lshw -c network` lists 1Gbit/s and `ethtool` confirms it. Windows displays 1000Mb/s in network settings. I’ve updated BIOS, drivers, and kernel without success. It seems the hardware might be faulty. Would returning the board and choosing a different platform with Realtek support be a good idea?
@Dujith, your perspective makes sense. I tested with the "lshw -C network" command after disconnecting the Ethernet cable, and it still displayed a 1Gb/s capacity. Think of it like upgrading to an RTX2080 graphics card—your device manager should recognize the graphics card as RTX2080, even if it's using an integrated GPU. The issue is that I can't correctly identify the network card as a 2.5Gb one.
