Hello, just completed setting up my first new PC today using the NZXT H5 Elite. I ran Cinebench for the first time and noticed my CPU reaching 100°C in seconds. I'm using a Nzxt T120 RGB air cooler paired with a Gigabyte Z790 Elite. Even when the fan is set to maximum, the temperature doesn't drop significantly. After stopping the test, the temps returned to normal idle levels (around 40°C). I have four case fans—two at 140mm in front, one angled at the bottom for the GPU, and one exhaust fan at the back. I realize I need more panels too. Also, there doesn't seem to be a difference with or without side panels as shown in IMG_8364.mov.
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 is currently priced around $35. It stands out as a top choice among air coolers available.
I considered opting for the pricier option as well. How might using it in these conditions affect the CPU during my savings period? I haven’t checked the temperatures while playing, so I’m uncertain about the readings.
A kraken model 22 would also work, it's a bit more affordable than the noctua.
I’m fine with Pure Rock 2 but have a front ventilated case with a tight foam filter. It’s unclear what caused the Cinebench score—I only recall issues during video encoding. For safety, you should use an exhaust fan before proceeding, since airflow will still circulate without it.
