My brother still has a locked 3rd gen 4C4T and plans to upgrade soon. When will the new 10th gen CPUs arrive? I thought they’d be available sometime in April to June, but we’re nearing the end of June and can’t find them anywhere. The 9th gen doesn’t offer hyperthreading unless it’s a very expensive i7, which is disappointing. Plus, there’s the 166-dollar Ryzen 3600 on Amazon, but I wanted to confirm by asking if it’s worth holding off for Intel’s 10th gen.

Is it available yet? Your brother’s budget is still pending. LGA 1200 isn’t ideal, especially with Ryzen—most situations call for that processor instead.

Not worthwhile. Budget Intel CPUs lack genuine speed benefits, and unlocked motherboards plus CPUs are prohibitively costly for minor improvements.

The 10th generation is now available, and its purpose will depend on how it's implemented. It could be used for advanced computing, AI tasks, or specialized applications based on its capabilities.

They use a lot of energy, become very warm, and the budget options perform poorly in power handling and memory speed.

Budget stays below 200 dollars with a minimum of six cores and twelve threads. I discovered an Intel 10th gen model, but my mind went blank. So here it is... https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i5-10400-De...328&sr=8-5 VS this... https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-3600-12...468&sr=8-1

Two hundred dollars for a fresh setup and a new CPU? That won't come true, especially with the A3100 and B450 Pro 4 costing about that amount. For gaming, it's more than sufficient.

The $200 covers just the CPU. I need recommendations for a solid motherboard for the 3600.
