Installing Programs out of Standard Dir
Previously I was placing my applications in the standard folder, typically Program Files or Program Files (x86). Now I want to move them to a different directory and arrange them however suits me. For instance, with Aida64: F:/Programs/Diagnostics/Aida64/. I just need to confirm this won’t lead to compatibility problems or general issues with the software. Of course, I’ll still install the programs there normally and configure the required paths. Thanks a lot! Sudo Chocolate
The software lets you set a custom installation folder, which explains why there shouldn't be issues unless your hard drive has problems. While installing, it records where files are placed and checks them using a reference list (the master table), though this is likely just a description.
It’s usually fine to place your apps anywhere since you used an installer. The registry contains settings for many program locations. Your files are divided across different drives—Steam, Origin, GTA V on the 2TB HDD, and C: drive (SSD) holding Windows, Chrome, Word, plus smaller programs.
