Hey there, welcome to the forum! Just wanted to say sorry if this isn't in the right place or already covered. This is my very first post. I joined just a few minutes ago.

To be honest, I'm having trouble setting up MacOS Mojave on my client's MacBook. I've tried everything—websites, the App Store, even creating a bootable USB on Windows—but nothing seems to work. The MacBook is really old (still running MacOS X Lion 10.7.5). I've watched several tutorials about making the USB and performing fresh installs, but they don't seem detailed enough for someone new to macOS. Maybe I'm not reading them carefully enough.

Could anyone point me in the direction of a reliable tutorial or video? Your help would be super appreciated!

It refers to the specific MBP located at the top left corner of the system, which leads to the About section. From there, navigating to System Report reveals the Model Identifier—possibly displayed on the About page itself during earlier versions like Lion.

The model identifier appears to be listed under "About" on the system report, specifically in the section labeled "Model Identifier." It may also be found directly in the Apple logo or top-left corner of the device details.

Ah I see. I'm sorry but I can't get it at the moment because I'm reinstalling macOS X after another failed USB install. Here's a link to what model it is from everymac.com https://everymac.com/systems/apple/macbo...specs.html I hope this can still help? Edited July 26, 2019 by Kuzon Add information

I have several versions of the .iso available. The earlier Lion release remains functional. The current installation steps are proceeding without issues.

The site 9to5mac hosted the Mojave .dmg file. After downloading it, I booted into Lion and completed the installation. Now I want to perform a clean install of Mojave, but I’m missing clear guidance—especially because my Mac is quite old. I attempted to create a bootable drive using TransMac, but it didn’t work. Could you provide simple step-by-step instructions or recommend a good YouTube video or website? I’m really confused and need help finding the right path. — Kuzon (Edited July 26, 2019)

If the previous guide isn't helpful, consider upgrading gradually, starting with options you can install directly from Lion.

I first wanted to download apps, but my Mac required the newest Sierra version. To get the installer, I needed the most recent Sierra release... It seems I got stuck in a tricky loop. My client probably had the Mac running for a while before trying to fix it again. Hope this helps! If the link works, I’ll give it a shot. Thanks!
